bah, Im sure I wont get better then Colorado's Comcast (even though other states have shitty Comcast -- here it's awesome)

I hate Comcast for both cable and internet...but if it's high-speed enough for you where you live, then I'm not complaining!

4-7Mbits and not a dime of downtime like other states that complain about Comcast do.... (and believe me I know about it because a server a friend hosts is on a comcast business account in another state and it goes down all the time, even when they try and update the TV connection at that address.....

Wow, you're in the army? Cool. I've never met anyone directly in the army before, excluding my uncle (and technically he's in the navy, so...).

I agree with piersk - are you a soldier or do you work with the tech? Or are you part of the army reserve?

Edit: I forgot to reply to the comcast. 4-6 mb? Really? Wow. I only get 500-700 kilobits per second, tops, and I've got Bellsouth DSL.

If I told you the details of my job in CO yes... however I can safely tell you I am not in the army... ground poudning isnt my forte, nor is deck swabbing, jar heading....

lol, I'm in the Air Force, and the basics of my job is Satellite & Microwave Communications, pretty much any form of wideband (and in rare cases narrowband) communications, most specifically, long haul.

LOL everyone asks that, and our joke answer is "nope, we fly satellites" but yah its not too funny if you dont know the job really 😛

Most people think we are Army... because the Air Force is so slow to make its own distinct uniform... of course lots of people in the AF think that we should all wear the same uniform because they keep trying to push towards a completely "Joint" military... yet they keep trying harder to make distint differences between them.... :rolleyes:

On Wikipedia everything is separated...under the main "United States Military" article, there's separate sections for the "U.S. Navy", "U.S. Air Force", "U.S. Coast Guard", "U.S. Army", and something else (sorry anyone reading this who's in the something else!!!).

Whatever you're in, I'm glad I can say I know someone in the military!

Tekky comes over as the most normal military man I've come across. I know four I can think of off the top of my head (two navy, two army) and they're all weird, two of them dangerously so.

it is true, each military is a seperate entity, however the leaders keep pushing for a smaller more mobile joint military, while each branch keeps pushing to become more and more distinct from the other branches. That is what I was trying to get across.
