[RESOLVED] Variable outputs

Is there a way to check what variables are being passed on?

I have a program that I'm trying to set up and it sends a report to a php page. This is a 3rd party prog so I have no control over it either. The data then gets filtered to appropriate tables.

What I'd like to do is to see if there is anymore data I can view and use from the data which is currently being send to the php page. It would also help in showing me the correct variable names too. Something the developers haven't layed out very clearly.

Right so you have no control over it however you want some control over it? And this third party program is what?

Sorry I also forgot to mention that I am completely new to php and just started using it a week or so ago. So sorry if my questions are really basic.

It's a VA (Virtual Airline) software called FSACARS. It basically gethers information about the current flight the user is doing and then sends a reports back to the VA server. This allows us to keep a logbook type for Virtual Pilots.

It currently sends the report from the prog to a specifc page on the site which then sends the data to the various tables.

When I say there is no control over it, I mean I can't get into the backend and alter what is being sent. The only thing I would be able to change would be dependant on what the variables are that are sent. That's the reason for this post.

Oh and in case you're wondering why I don't ask the developers...... They don't like to respond to forum questions. LOL and true! So I have decided to work it out my self if possible.

You can view all the variables sent to the php page putting in that php page the following:
<?
print_r($POST);
print_r($GET);
?>

This will output the data being passed in either post or get methods. This will be enough to let you know the names of the variables (as weel as the values, of course) being sent.

Better yet - print_r($_REQUEST) - includes POST & GET!
