I'm relatively new ( but old and exassperated with MS and ASP) and decided to try PHP and apache. For conveneience I am running windows XP pro with APache 1.3 and I cannot get XMl tools to work on the current version of PHP (4.N.N)
SO I decided to upgrade to PHP5
I downloaded the zip to try teh manual install. all workedd fine. Made teh ini file and then started on teh apache config file.
I amended the file to include
LoadModule php5_module "c:/php/php5apache.dll"
at the apprioapriate place. made teh other mods. Saved the file and then tried a stop/start of teh serve. the server will not start.
I took out the LoadModule php5_module "c:/php/php5apache.dll" and uncommenetd the PHP4 line and bingo all is fine. after several other fruitless attmepts It occurred to me that the HTTPConfig bleats about the dll.
any suggestion will be seized on like a drowing man graspingf at a straw.

SOrry I should mention I have checked teh stupid like / not\ and the file is actually in the correct directory blah, blah, blah
