Hi everyone

I am trying to put a chatroom into my web site I want the users to log in straight into the chat with their current username so the dont have to enter an other name..

I I have tried to work it out but it does not work,

I think it should be something like this

<param name="username" value="">
<param name="password" value="">

Dont know what to put into the value

If anyone knows Please reply to this post

you post suggests that you already have a login routine elsewhere on your site. if so then store the current login info in a [man]session[/man] and use the session data for the authorization in the the chat area.

Yes, sessions are definately the way to go. How are you authenticating them now?

we need to see your login code to be of much more help, but a simple example would be...

$_SESSION['name'] = 'bob';

$member[ID] = $POST[ID];
$member[Password] = crypt( $POST[Password], 'secret_string' );

On a different web site This chat has been integrated and user log in easy they have added this two lines only

<param name="username" value="<?php print("$sql_array->mem_username"); ?>">
<param name="password" value="<?php print("$sql_array->mem_password"); ?>">

Hi everyone

I have done this

<param name="username" value="<?php print("$COOKIE[memberID]"); ?>">
<param name="password" value="<?php print("$COOKIE[memberPassword]"); ?>">
<param name="autologin" value="yes">

It works but instead of the nickname when users enter the chatroon they log in with ID: first user got 1 and so on

Can you please tell me how to change it..

You are going to have to provide more information. What ever is indicating that the user has authenticated is going to have to be used by the chat software. If you have stored the username and password in a temp table/cookie/session you can pick it up again. Otherwise you will need to re-authenticate them, or rebuild the login to the chat to accept the existing authentication from the original login...
