Couple of basic questions

I'm not exactly a newbie to PHP but looking on the web at tutorials and stuff I've seen a couple of things i really don't understand so I thought i'd ask here

firstly, what does "->" do/mean? eg

$mailer->FromName = 'Your Name'; 

second, what's the difference between include(filename); require(filename); and require_once(filename); ?
