Back button returns to top of page

When I visit my personal website (a new WordPress journal... temporarily using the default theme), the back button in my browser (be it Firefox or IE6) always returns me to the top of the page and not back to the spot on the page that I had been at. Anyone know a reason this might be? Anyway to stop this behavior?

Perhaps its a header that is sent? Or a setting in each respective browser? Any help is appreciated.

See if you've got a # in the address. That means you've got an anchor somewhere on the page which you've been linked to. So, when you click back, it's reloading the page.
