Building A Forum - Show New Posts

Hi Guys,

I'm new around here, and generally, quite a novice in PHP...

I've decided to build a forum for my web site - www.racewall.net - However, I've ran into a bit of difficulty with how to show posts that are new, since your last visit to the site.

In the members table, I have date and time they last logged in at, and each thread has the same layout for the time that the post was made at, and when the last post was.

I can't get my head around a way to get the forum to show that these threads are new since the last visit of the user.

Also, when the user logs into the forum, it automatically updates the last visit time,therefore, if they click on board, they will come back, and all threads will then be marked as read, I think ?

hey,
you need have to sit think and design forum for your site. the best suggestion that i can give you is to get the forums from the phpbb.com or many sites available that lets u to add their forums to ur site.

first before getting the forums get read the terms and conditions from the respective site.

i recommend u not to waste your time in designing forums.
