Large page getting cut off

There is a reports area where users can view records in the db. I have pagination and all that good stuff, which encourages the user to only view 50 records at a time. Unfortunately, the client wants the option to view all records at once.

If they are just viewing a couple hundred, everything works fine. But once they get into the thousands, the page is cut off. It cuts off at different places (normally after 250 or so) which implies that maybe it is timing out.

Is there a way for me to tell what is timing out? MySQL? PHP? Heck...can the browser time out?

is the script timing out?...I think the default is 30 seconds or so. check out set_time_limit in the manual

That's what I wasn't sure. How do I know if it is the script or the browser?

try what max suggessted first,
place
set_time_limit(0);
at the top of the script. if all the records then show, you know it was php and now its fixed otherwise, more fun debugging to come.
