[RESOLVED] Some PHP option make existing forms unusable

Hi,

Since I installed PHP 5, my (e-mail) forms don’t work anymore in the test environment. This is definitely a PHP.ini setup problem. As soon as I change the PHP setup to the defaults or to the PHP 4 settings, the forms are OK (but some other problems arise).

It seems that all button variables are unknown after submitting the form. The PHP option ‘register_globals’ is On.

This is the error shown in the browser:

This is the HTML code where the error occurs:

And here is the code of the button:

My question is which PHP option should I change to solve this problem with the current forms?
(I know that the coding can be improved by avoiding the register globals, but that’s a thing to keep in mind for new forms.)

OK, you may want to show the code that's applicable to the actual error itself, instead of the code you have shown here.

The error is referring to: btn_cancel in the file D:\WebRoot\SHG\informatie\e-mail.nl.php

and the code you gave is dealing with the variable: btn_reset_on_form_1

Show the code that refers to the btn_cancel variable and we can help you out...

Sorry for the mistake: the code should, of course, refer to the same variable.

In the meantime, I figured out myself what was wrong. It was the PHP.ini option error_reporting=E_ALL that was the difference between the former situation and the new one: it now also shows notices.
In fact, the PHP code is not OK, I should initialize the variables if they do not exist, before I use them.

I think that making mistakes is the best way to improve knowledge.
