Stop BACK BUTTON from resetting the fields

Hi guys

Usually, one would expect that after submitting a form, error or success, when one hits the browse's BACK BUTTON, the data inputted in the fields should still be there..

Why is it that sometime's this isnt the case? and how do we force the browser to not RESET/CLEAR the web form ?

I bung all my info into session variables then when the page is reloaded the form is filled in again with the info.
For longer term refilling of a form, use cookies instead of sessions.

yah.. but is there another way? putting it in session and ECHOing back in the page for each field.. well.. call me lazy but it's just hektic.. hehehe.
