It just occurred to me that, although i've seen it several times before when referencing functions at http://www.php.net/, the text field at the top of the page, the search input box "search for" displays the keywords of my most recent search, as if i had entered them again even though i have not.
I'm curious... does anyone know how it works? for example, most any other page that has a text field does not show our previous entry-- it is instead blank, waiting for new input, or may not be used at all if we as users decide that we do not need to the text input field. yet, this page shows our previous entry. it makes me wonder what possible uses this state of being might present to an ingenious programmer.
anyone know how it is done? anyone using their own version, and if so, why have you chosen to do so?
