Simple Sort Function

My table looks like this

IS there a SIMPLE sort function that would allow a user to sort entries that are displayed on a page by STATE, or by USERNAME and ASC or DESC?

Thanks for any help. My problem is not DISPLAYING all of the information, but adding sort to the top of the display.

Well..

You'd have a form that submits the colum they want to sort for.
Based on that you add a sort by string to your query.

If that was not what you were looking for, then what is the bottleneck you were facing? (I was actually for once not joking! )

I've produced a search form that searches for "LIKE"...

THis sounds to me like a completely different question from the first post.

Anyway. nope. You can just do a select * from users where pending=1 and State='Northern Territories' order by city

Yeah, the question was just a continuation...I asked you how i should do the search form..and then ONCE I DID IT...i posted it and asked how to include dropdown for the states.

but there's no way that i can make $state == $states for the query? that way in the form, i can include the dropdown of all the states...and whever state they select will be included in the query.....

Hi COdegirl,

Yes you can. Just place single quotes around the variable, in case there is spaces in teh names, and in a query you only need one =.

But.. Why didn't you just try? Do not be afraid to try things.
