Any way to hide error message

when a user enters the wrong user id and name it comes up with this:

Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/homer090/public_html/easyjetv/pirep.php3 on line 26
You user ID and Name do not match our records please try again

is there anyway i can hide the errr and just show the:

You user ID and Name do not match our records please try again

ok im very limited on my knowledge of php and to the previous post i have a form where users submit info but they have to enter their name and id so it can be entered into the right area got me

you have a mysql statement that is throwing the warning... put the @ in front of it, and it will supress the warning. something like :

@mysql_fetch_array(yadda)

well, somewhere in the code it must use mysql_fetch_array method. find it and edit the error message.

are you knowledge full in php because if so i would have though you know its not that easy editing the mysql error message?

no i am not, i am just hanging around this forum doing nothing. and besides that i have difficulty understanding help requests that do not specify the problem.

well basically the error message created by php and mysql are not editable as such you can add to them but you can't simply delete it but as ive just learned find the mysql_fetch_array and put @ infront will stop teh automattic message appearing and make only you message appear

thank you. if i may, i would suggest to not put the @ in front of the method call. this hides the problems with your code. instead, it seem that you invoke mysql_fetch_array with an invalid resource handle, which means that you did not check whether it was valid earlier in the code where you obtained it, perhaps from mysql_query method. so i would check it there first and not call mysql_fetch_array on an invalid handle.

Konsu is right. the @ just disguises the problem. there is most assuradly an error in your code somewhere. It may be that you are just getting 0 rows back, so you need to test for that first.
