OCR with PHP

Asking the impossible but does anyone know of any code that will allow the text to be pulled from images? I am trying to create a document management system that will allow a user to upload a scanned document, categorize the document and the system will OCR the document and put all the text it finds in the database. Then the text in the image can be searchable.

Any ideas would be great. I have spent most of the day looking on google with very little results.

it could be done but php wouldnt be the most effective way, with so many different fonts around training it would be very difficult by using code and not optical light how scanners do. you probably wont find anything on this, as there is very little around about it in even c and other languages.
