Dynamic Query Generator

Hi all,

I am developing a website and i would like to let a certain type of user to be able to generate their own report, by selecting the table column or attribute they would like to include in their report.

I have different ways of doing that, but I couldn't not figure out how to pass the variable to the query. Also, once the user made his or her selection, I would love to save the information the user provided so that when the user log in and access the report he or she won't have to select the attribute again, unless he or she wants to add or remove attributes.

I hope that I made myself clear enough. And I would certainly be thankful for any idea or help.

pretty simple...create the column list with show coloumns from database, allow the user to choose with checkboxes whose values equal the
a) index name
b) actual field name

upon submit pass those items back to server to be processed...
