Replace MS Word Characters

Hi,

I think this question might be asked many times here but I'm confused of what to use

My problem is:

I save the microsoft word document files to web page (html) and insert them into the mysql database

The problem is the special characters found in the microsoft word stops inserting the data upto where the special charcter found

My question is:

Is there a way to replace these characters before I insert in mysql?

If the special characters that you have in mind are the quote-lookalikes, then you probably can just find out their numeric representation using a hex editor, and then replace them.

Otherwise, you might try [man]htmlentities/man, but I'm not sure if that will work.
