fsockopen

I am trying to connect with a windows 2003 server running coldfusion. I can connect using fsockopen using port 80 but I can not connect using ssl port 443.

I am able to connect to other 2003 servers using ssl and port 443.

I think it is a ssl verification error. The developer I am working with says he has people using php and curl turn off a verify flag and that enables them to work.

Is there something similar so I can continue to use fsockopen?

I receive the following headers when trying to send via ssl.

HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request
Content-Type: text/html
Date: Tue, 06 Sep 2005 03:31:38 GMT
Connection: close
Content-Length: 39

<h1>Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)</h1>

cURL would be better suited in my personal opinion however what do you have so far?

Also found this in a user comment on the PHP Manual for [man]fsockopen[/man] its just an example maybe you can get some ideas from it
