What is the reason that there is a standard 2 mb upload_max_filesize limit in the php.ini Why I ask is because my web host is afraid that is might have been set for a security/safety reasonโฆ Can you help me whit this problem, it would be a life safer.
Regards Toke
maybe since it was created about 10 years ago and back then internet connections were slower and people didnt use form uploads as much? and memory was more expensive? its not a security problem for them to increase it. ive seen hosts put this to 60mb or so in the past.
You forgot to mention "and disk space was more expensive" ๐
Still no luck, he refuge to give me more upload ๐ Is there another way? I know ftp but is there any script that can give me ftp upload without giving others total access to my ftp server without password protection?
switch hosts, if they are so ignorant that they are afraid to raise the upload limit, they should not be in the hosting business. other alternative, use a perl script, it doesn't have such a limitation.
I have tried getting a perl script, but it dosen't seem to work? do i have to opload the script to my host server or ? It just dosen't work? really not in to all that perling!
you would upload it in the same place as the php script, but you have to set the permissions of it to 755 so it can be run from the browser by other users.
๐ ok don't know how to do that!? more reading, I can see I have a long way to perfection! Do I also have to cmob it if I run on windows server?
