Searching for many substrings in many strings

Hey all.. I have about 7 strings and I need to check for a number of substrings within each of these 7 strings. Can anyone please suggest a quick way of doing this rather than writing a long IF??

Can't you use something like preg_match? I believe it's array friendly.
