I need a very good shopping cart suggestion

Well, I am tiered of trying to modify second rate e-commerce software. I need somthing that will make my life easier. I have been looking through sites like hotscripts. But I am not finding anything and beside you real don't know what your getting until you actually have it running in the real world.

I am looking for a suggestion for a very good shopping cart program. The one I presently have does have the ability to easily enter orders manually. I would also like to be able to enter the order number on manual orders not have it automatically entered. I would also like it to have the ability to access all my email accounts, that are on the same sever, so that when customers email me with questions or order problems I can easily look up the info that I may need or cross reference different emails under differnt address but that are from the same customer. I would like it to also be able to let me upload my wholesale list and have it cross referenced with the product listing so that when I need to place an order with my wholesale supplier I can just select the items and it adds the item numbers to an email so that when am done selecting the items I can finish the email and send it to my supplier.

I really just need a solution that will allow me to do almost everything I would need to do, to run my site, from one location, instead of having to have 4 or 5 browers or other software windows open. I would also like it to be PHP an MySQL based so I can make most cosmetic and minor changes myself.

Price is kind of irrelavant but the cheaper the better.

You could develop one yourself or use the search function of the forum.

But they require effort so you have been warned.

NetNerd85, I could develope one but I am just way to busy. I have started to make something but as anyone knows to get something like that to the point that you can use it reliably could take me several months and that's without having to run my business. I just cannot believe that someone hasn't already made something.

piersk, yea I read it along with several other threads in other forums. I am a firm believer in you get what you payed for. You could by a $200 TV or you could by a $1000 TV. What's the Differnce??? I am more than willing to pay up to or even over $1000 for a top level solution. My company is on track to have a half million dollars in sale within the next year. A free solution is not going to do the job.

I know there's a good solutions out there I am just trying to get the opinions of people who have had to work with these solutions.

Just because something is free doesn't mean that it is bad. Your using PHP after all. You should be looking for reputation rather than $ signs. If not you could just go buy Websphere and be happy.

Shrike, Well, yea I could use that but I am sure it would be over kill. My point is I need a quality product that will do the job I need it to. And most often to get a good solution you have to pay. I highly doubt that anyone has made such a product that they would give away free usually you give away a sample and you then sell your master piece.

Zencart is awesome, that's true... but I don't think it has the features you require. I don't believe you can enter a manual number for the order number, nor enter wholesale lists, nor read emails from customers. You can send emails to customers and reset the order number (or change it straight in the db), but that's about it. To my knowledge, there isn't a canned package that provides all those things. They're right, you'll probably have to pay someone to do this, or slap on hacks to existing carts.

[edit]I did a bit of googling, and it looks like Volusion might have more of what you're looking for. I don't know about entering orders manually, and it's written ASP, but you might take a look.
