money_format

Hi,

format_number doesn't seem to work properly on my test server (FreeBSD). Code is identical with the one in the php manual:

$money = 12345.56;
setlocale(LC_MONETARY, 'en_US');
echo money_format('%i',$money);

output: 12345.56

Why is there no comma and currency in my output?
Does anybody have an idea?

I tried that code on my Linux server with PHP 4.3.11 and it worked for me!

Note the manual does say this:

This function wraps the C library function strfmon(), with the difference that this implementation converts only one number at a time...The function money_format() is only defined if the system has strfmon capabilities.

Try number_format() instead and just prefix the 'USD' yourself.
