My organisation has a membership of around 300 people. We have a 'members only' area which is governed by a .htaccess file, manually amended by me through my service provider control panel.
Frankly I can't be bothered doing that anymore!
Ideally, what I want to do is have our membership secretary do it for me, but I don't really want to give him all the logon information for the control panel - the current secretary is reliable, but I don't know about his successor(s) - we change committee every 12 months. Is it possible to amend the .htaccess file using the fopen() command?
If it IS possible, could someone possible give me some pointers?
