Stroring Username and Password

Hi all,

How do i store database username and password outside the document root?

I have found some info on doing this, but it explains that i should store the info within httpd.conf folder, but i dont seem to have access. Thanks i advance for any help, advice and suggestions given. Project completion date is this week, so extra thanks for any help

I have messed a little on storing them in a php file outside of the public html folder

One way is to create an (huge after it gets used) array. Then just search for that user when they try and log in.

why not just store them in a database as well?

If you are using php this wouldnt (in most cases) be nessecary..

Then it is possible that your web host doesnt allow this - you should contact them to ask for clarification/permission.
