Problem with TEXTAREA

dear friends, i have a bothering problem with TEXTAREA when i load a html and php code with it.

in my codes i have SPACE but when it loades through this TEXTAREA all SPACE are removed and therefore my codes being non-sense!

what i used for TEXTAREA is:

<p align="center">
<textarea rows="2" name="code" cols="20" style="width: 400; height: 150"><?php readfile("$template"); ?></textarea>

Plaese help me.

it highly depends on the format of the file you include... is this html ? text ? Other ? Did you try an include() instead of a readfile ?

try just printing out the variable value first. I am guessing that you are either using an unusual font type (or language pack etc). regardless, readile is really really slow. you might want to look at using an feof/echo fread

what can i do now?

well, i'm not familar with utf8, but it's possible that the readfile() function is not fully compatible with utf8. So try some other ways to include your doc, and look the utf8 function of php, maybe there is something interesting in it.
