how can i egt php to tell me in minutes how many minutes have passed from a given time for example i have a form that a user enters 2 times 1 when he took off and one where he landed i need php to work out how many minutes have elapsed from the take off time

currently i am useding the timespan command but i can get it to work out in minutes correctly i think

$timespan =($landingtime + $takeofftime);

convert the two times into UNIX timestamps using [man]strtotime[/man], calculate the diff and then divide by 60.

like i said im not that good with php im oly teaching myself so i know virtually nothin buttin this is what ive tryed to do but it gives me more than what should be 120 minutes

Thank you that fixed the problem except tehres the problem that i the user takesoff before midnight 23:59 and lands after it thinks theyve gone back in time so if anyone know how to fix this it owuld be a great help

No it would be usefull because if someone fly past midnight then its going to render their submission useles as it will remove hours from there record
