Connection to the firebird db from the browser

HI All
I am working with the PHP 4.4 with firebird db on Linux environment.
I am getting the error message of
Fatal Error: Call to Undefined function ibase_connect();, when i tried to connect to the firebird db from linux

I have generated php_interbase.so file, even after generating this file i could
able to see the connection executed in vi editor, but same error continuing
if i execute the file from the browser.
