Searching for PHP/MySQL tutorials

i've been looking for a tutorial that combines PHP and MySQL, but it's been hard so far. Even the thread for newbies didn't help much.

If anyone knows of a site or book that would help me reach my goal of writing my own CMS, information on these would be much appreciated.

As of right now though, I'm pretty new to php altogether. I can manage a little bit on my own, and I'm used to coding (thanks to two years in java courses), so it shouldn't be too hard for me to understand.

this site would be a good place to start. or better still, seeing as your allready a programmer, the manual should be sufficient. plenty of examples in there.

Actually, a site that I'm an often user on, only lately, is phpfreaks.com . They have tutorials, scripts, and even some forums such as here. They have a pretty nice site, so go check that out 🙂

Thorpe, I glanced at the manual, and honestly...it scares me. It's alot of text, and I'm a lazy 17 yearold. I'll have to look into it eventually though, so why not now when I'm young enough to pull all nighters.

katzman.steven, thanks for the link. I've never heard of the site. I did some searches for php, mysql, etc. on google, an dit never came up. Is it fairly new compared to other PHP tut. sites?

cyb0rg51, w3schools.com was my first reference. It's a great site, but it wasn't doing much for me in PHP/MySQL. HTML, XML, etc. I learned there though.
