I am doing a simple forum system, and want to make a list of users who are currently on the forums (much like phpBB, and most other forums, has). Right now I added a MySQL row called "logged_in" that turns 1 when they log in and 2 when they log out. But, of course, a lot of people (including myself) don't log out everything they leave the site.
How can I detect who's currently on the website, and/or when they leave the site? Is it really complicated?
