Linefeeds -> Unix and Windows

How would I configure Windows Notepad (Windows XP) to properly display unix linefeeds?

Every once in awhile I open a text document which throws everything at me in a mess, and I was wondering if there was a way to remedy this.

Most of the time it's a PHP file that does this, which is why I am proposing the question here.

I don't know that you can adjust notepad, at least not that I've discovered. Wordpad, however, will display and save linux-created text properly. I use Vim for windows which also works fine with *nix formatted files.

That's the remedy that works for me: don't use Notepad. Use a real text editor.

Well I don't particularly enjoy using WordPad. I like simplicity. Notepad has everything in it that I want and need (except this!). I've tried command line editing, a la vim, etc, but I really prefer the point and click method.

Can you recommend a simple, and I emphasize simple, free text editor capable of all this?

If you think WordPad is complex, I have no idea what to recommend for simple 🙂

You can also run the files through dos2unix or some similar reformatter to fix the line breaks after you use notepad to do the editing.
