Carrying sessions across different domains

Hi everyone,

I'm baffled as to how I can accomplish this.

Compatibility is important, so I would like to not use cookies. I am trying to carry over some session information from a non-secure site into a secure site. It's actually the same server but a different domain name (cheap web hosting account that lets you use their SSL).

Anyway of accomplishing this?

if both domains are on the same physical server then the session file will still be there. you just need to propagate the session id through the URL:

echo '<a href="https://www.avant.com/index.php?' . session_name() . '=' . session_id() . '">go secure</a>';

Hm... for some reason it's not working. I used that script and the session information just isn't there. However, when I test it by going back to it's non-secure equiv, all the session info displays...

you can also [man]serialize[/man] the session array, stick in a db temp table, and pull it out and [man]unserialize[/man] on the other side.
