Monday, dont it just suck

im writing a short script where i have to figure out what week it is and what date the monday of said week has, but i can't seem to figure out how to get the date of that damn monday.

so basicly what i want is a way to figure out what date monday has of a given week?

I'm going to assume that you're needing to figure out what week contains a given date (and not that you're just after this week. Assuming $then is a timestamp from the date in question, strtotime('last Monday', $then).

Another way to do it would be to see what day of the week the given date is, and then just count back (if today is Wednesday, then Monday was two days ago).
