I am fairly comfortable with scripting - but uncomfortable about upgrading my server, which has quite a few sites that are heavily dependend on PHP and MySQL
Current setup: PHP 4.1.2 on Red Hat 7.2 (Rackspace server)
MySQL 3.23.55
Apache 1.3.23
Alll kinds of things in PHP config (Curl, OpenSSL, GD, etc)
I know upgrading to 5.0 will break all kinds of things,because of globals being off,etc.
However some scripts I want (mainly to integrate with Paypal Pro) require PHP 4.3 or better, so I want to upgrade to the latest in the 4 family.
What should I watch out for? An easy way to do this? Does anybody have any advice for me - I'm a one-person shop maintaining a bunch of sites and can imagine screaming customers and me getting no sleep for days....
