print array?

Hi all,
I have this array...
$array = array();
Array ( [12] => 0.820 [4] => 0.780 [2nd] => 0.480 [3rd] => 0.380 )

When I try to echo $array[2nd] or $array[3rd] I get the below error.Why?

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ']' in /homepages/xx/xxxxxxxxxx/htdocs/shipCalc.php on line 93
