Hi all
I have a quick question: I start using phpmyadmin recently. I find that you can only select fields from 3 tables simultaneously. Is that correct? I am asking this because what happens when you need to have several tables joined or values from several tables retrieved?
Are there restrictions in the program???

There is no restriction like you say that I am aware of. Does the documentation for phpmyadmin or mysql say anything about restrictions on joins?

the "Query" tab only allows 3 tables but you always write your own query in the "SQL" tab with as many tables as you wish.

SQLite
which I prefer - lightweight and easy to use

has a nice little sqliteadmin
that is a free project

it is also a standard component defult install in XAMPP package
PHP4/PHP5 Apache MySQL SQLite MSSQL Perl phpmyadmin phpsqliteadmin .... and much more

Jesus, thank you all and especially you devinemke ..
I have written the same question in 5-6 forums and everybody thought I was crazy when I wrote that there are only 3 fields to select from..

So, friends, is there any reason whatsoever to use phpmyadmin? If I have to write my code by hand (because, really, how many queries in complex demand data from one table???) I can do that without phpmyadmin..

Sure, to manage your database. I have never needed to use phpmyadmin as a user application tool, just to manage, create, modify, etc. databases that are used by other applications.
