I am studying the normal form:
here is two relation, what should be their highest normal form?
R1 = ({A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H},{A-> C D,B-> E F H})
It seems that it is a first noraml form as C D E F H will repeat. However, if A,B,G is the key, then the other are non-prime, then R1 seems to be in 3NF.
R2 = ({A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H},{A->B C D, AE-> G H,E-> F,F-> E})
Again, it seems that B C D will repeat so R2 is in first normal form. However, if AE or AF is the key. it seems that R2 is in third noraml form.
Any idea??
