mail(); just hanging....

I changed my php.ini file's email SMTP server setting from 'localhost' to 'smtp.comcast.net'

But, when I try to send mail, instead of an error, it just hangs (hourglass) . . .

Initially, I received an error message saying as follows: "Error Upgrading 'PHP/php4ts.dll' : 32!"

Any ideas what I did wrong?

OS: Windows 2000 pro / Service Pack 4
PHP: 4.3.11

Apache: 1.3.33 (Win32) PHP/4.3.10

The only things changed were:

SMTP: smtp.myISP.net
smtp_port: 25

sendmail_from: [e-mail]

Halojoy, I didn't specify the "sendmail_path no value" . Do you think this is the problem? If so, what should I set it to??
