I am in the process of looking into a Flash/PHP/Mysql chat facility, all appeared to be going well and yes there are plenty of tutorials, example code and even a complete chat download. However, as I am still learning I thought I'd attempt this own myself.
The problem being, I can create a basic chat but I need the facility to allow private chat too, this will mean that the user will be able to have the main chat window open and any number of private chats open too. Firstly, How can I do this and secondly guarantee that the chat messages between flash and PHP will appear in the correct window. Wouldn't want a private message appearing in the public window...... :o
PS - no sockets used as yet....
