.htaccess problems

Hi there

My website is running on a apache sserver

I have tried to make a custom error 404 page, using .htaccess

It works as planned when asking for a file / page that is not there, except if the request is for a .php file, then the server dont load my custom error page, but shows the standard 404 error message

How can I solve that?
Do I need to make some kind of php script or what????

I use the Apache that comes with phpdev 4.3.2 (or 4.2.3...can't remember) and the error page is under the \www\missing.htm

Might not be the right forum though?!
But anyway.

I have made a .htaccess file so I can use custom error files 404 and so on.
It works very well with html, jpg and so.
When trying to access such files it comes op with the corresponding error file.
BUT, when trying to access a php file which is not there, it shows a blank page with the text: No input file specified.

What is the problem and how can I solve this.
I have contacted my webhost, but they don't know why it don't work with php.
Do any of You?
