Regarding OMR using PHP

[FONT=Arial Black]Hi to all i am a new member to this group. I am doing an application for an university using PHP and in Linux.

In this application there is an exam in that i want to scan the answer sheet and recognize the marks using Optical Mark Recognition(OMR).

I want the details of the OMR hardware and software that should support both linux and php.

Can any one help on this how to develop this using the concept of OMR
