ImageString problem

I'm trying to use the ImageTTFText funtion to embed a string to an image. My problem is that PHP doesn't recognize the function. I did:

'./configure' '--with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs' '--with-mysql' '--with-oci8=/home/oracle/OraHome_2/' '--with-zlib' '--with-gd' '--enable-gd-native-ttf' '--with-freetype-dir=/usr/' '--with-ttf' '--with-gdbm' '--with-gettext' '--with-jpeg-dir=/usr' '--with-png'

and it doesn't output any error while compiling it. So what is the problem? :queasy:

So, it compiles just fine, no errors or anything? What version of PHP are you compiling? If you're compiling a very old version, you might try checking out this link. At any rate, have you made sure you grabbed the latest PHP version?

Once you've compiled, what's a phpinfo() printout look like? Can we possibly see it?

I've enclosed the a file with the phpinfo(). You see, everything else works fine. MySQL, Oracle, etc., but I really need to use that function and can't seem to find the right ./configure option to do it. 😕

Do you have the FreeType library installed in /usr/ ?

EDIT: Also, let's find out what GD says it is configured to do. Execute this PHP script and post/paste the output:

But according to the README on the FreeType download, I do have the FreeTYpe 1 installed since I have the libttf files on /usr/lib. So am I missing and option while compiling the PHP?

I'm no Unix/compiling guru on this, so someone else is going to have to take a look at this. I'm a bit stumped.

Could it perhaps be permissions problems? Can you try installing/upgrade FreeType to the latest version? Or, perhaps, uninstall and reinstall it?

Yes, I actually installed the newest version of FreeType, so I think my problem is that I'm missing a parameter for PHP, but I don't know which one. Well, thanx anyway, dude.
