Currency Formatting..

I am in the process of making a simple shopping cart page for my employees website, and through the administration panel for this application you set the price of the item as a whole number IE (£59.99 entered as 5999 in admin panel) which is then stored in the MySQL database...

All well and good, but when i am displaying these items/products on the interface for the customers i am using number_format() to format the price but PHP rounds it to the nearest number so instead of seeing £59.99 i am getting £60.00 i have searched the php manual and looked at other peoples posts in various forums for this problem and still havent found a solution.. can anyone help me please? 🙁

this site is hosted a Windows platform running PHP v5.0.5.

Erm, so all you are doing is inputting a dot . before the last two numbers, and a comma every three before that, and a $ at the beginning?

Look into writing your own function using substrings, and string length (strlen())

sorry i might not have explained myself properly... i can format the price ok... but cannot stop the "number_format()" function rounding £59.99 to £60.00 i want it to display £59.99 i have a work around at the minute but its not ideal...

sprintf() is good with dealing with what you need, you just need to understand it (and I for one, do not 😉)
