Call all regex experts!!

I have a string, and i need to make sure that the string follows the pattern of: Letter Number Number Letter Number Number etc...

so...

A01B01C01D01 would be correct....whereas

A0B01C0D01 would not be correct.

I suck at regular expressions, anyone out there who is quick with them?

Woud this do the trick?

([a-z][0-9][0-9])

You might try:

/^([A-Z][0-9]{2})+$/

using [man]preg_match/man

[0-9]{2} matches two numeric characters
([A-Z][0-9]{2}) is a subpattern matching an uppercase alphabetic character, followed by two numeric characters
The + that follows causes it to match one or more such subpatterns
The ^ denotes matching the start of the subject, and $ denotes matching the end
