Generating images on the fly without using GD libraries

For one of my project, I need to integrate an option for generating images on the fly from the data available in the database. I have done this using GD library, but while deploying this on the client's server, I came to know that the server is not enabled with GD library and the service provider is reluctant to install this.

Is there any way I can generate images without the help from GD library?

A php server without gd? What else don't have installed?

You can use imagemagick if that is installed, or you can creatively use ordinary table tags.
