isnt that configured in php-ini????
The size limitation is. But large files could still run into timeouts on browser, or various levels of hardware between the client and server. No-one really configures anything to expect a HTTP request to take minutes to get a response, which could cause problems somewhere along the way.
What I'd suggest would be asking people to FTP their files, and then react when they arrive. The manner in whch files are uploaded would need to help you identify who uploaded what.
So, you could require people to register before they upload, then they could include their idnumber in the file name... (10123-myfile.mpeg) or you could give everyone their own ftp upload area which only they ahave access to, so that you know all files in dir 10113 came from that user.
You could then have a poller which checks the upload dir(s) every few minutes. Whenever it finds a file, it moves it to a central area and then emails the uploader a link to a form where they can complete any info relating to it.. All of this could then be storedin a database for conversion to XML when required.
Getting from there to flash, I can't help you with, as I don't know squat about it. 🙂 But preparing the XML should be straightforward.
