I'm trying to get this done before the first of november, so I can get my newsletter out to everyone like I promised.

on my site i have a register form.
name, email, address, phone etc. etc. etc.

I'd like to add a checkbox, "Subscribe to newsletter" which (i guess this is best) will insert the first name, last name, and email into PHP list (an open source mailing list) as hidden fields.

is it possible? 😃

Sorry I don't understnad why you mention hidden fields. Apart from this it would appear what your asking is pretty straighforward. Why the hidden fields and where would they be?

Honestly I'm not sure.
As I'm still learning PHP I'm only suggesting, from what I know so far, what I think would be best to do.

The two seperate forms are on two seperate pages, so I assumed it would be best to place some hidden fields that would forward the other information automatically.

Any other suggestions to "auto complete" a second form would work fine also.

Ok, so you have t wo forms as part of the registration process. If this is the case it is straightforward to use the results of one to add function to the other. PHP is very good at this. However, as the data you need for the newsletter is already on the first from why not simply populate your databse from the first form on the value of the checkbox.

i thought of that but i'm pretty sure the info needs to be processed (if thats the right terminology).

In other words, I don't think inputting it straight into the database will work the way I like it to.
