replacing \\

Hi,

I have a form with a textfield where users can fill in the path of a folder. The thing is that php adds a '\' to the path and I can't figure out how to remove one of the '\'. stripslashes removes all of them and str_replace('\','\', $var) doesn't work either. Anyone can help me with this?

Actually I am not sure now if I have this problem with '\' or with '/'? I am working on this at a friends place and am developing over there on windows but eventually it should run on both windows and linux.

If you are sure that there will allways be a double backslash at the end of the string, you could just strip off the last character like this:

$var=substr($var,0,strlen($var)-1);

thanks, as it returns a path, it is more then likely there are more '/' 's or '\' in the string. How to deal wit this?

Should I realy do a while statement with strpos check on '//' and '\' and then use substr?

You can use $str = str_replace('\\', '\', $str);
