[RESOLVED] phpdev 4.2.3 and winxp

hello all!
first of all, I just wanna say hi to everyone!
I used to be a regular around here back around 3 through 2 years ago when I was working in new york... about a year and half ago I moved to israel and am now serving in the IDF... which doesn't leave much time (or necesity) for this sort of thing... but I want to say hello to anyone who remembers me!

so anyway, I recently installed phpdev 4.2.3 on a winxp system... everything was wroking fine even after installing IIS as well (stopping the IIS service, of course) but suddenly it stopped working! Apache says its running, but I can't open localhost in my browser!!! anybody know of this problem/ know what I can do? I'll post my apache conf file if necessary, but it looked okay to me....

Well which are you trying to use, apache or iis? I wouldn't recommend having them both. It would seem as though if you have iis and apache installed that iis would function without apache running but not the other way around bc ms doesn't exactly develope the most 'considerate' software...

actually, IIS and apache were working fine together, as long as I disabled one server when running the other... however, I took a second look at my IIS and that wasn't working, either... I tried going into the IIS admin, but it was totally fubar... so I uninstalled it and my apache is working fine now... cheers anyway!
