[RESOLVED] problem with GD - a few functions don't seem to work

I have a managed server:
Linux stripples.devel.redhat.com 2.4.21-1.1931.2.274.entsmp #1 SMP Tue Jun 24 11:18:10 EDT 2003 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Here are the compile strings for GD that I can see:
'--with-gd' '--enable-gd-native-ttf' '--with-ttf' '--with-gdbm' '--with-gettext' '--with-ncurses' '--with-gmp'

Here is the specific info on GD:
GD Support enabled
GD Version 1.6.2 or higher
FreeType Support enabled
FreeType Linkage with freetype
JPG Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled

However, the owner of the ISP whom I know personally just installed GD 2.0.33 on my system. I restarted Apache, but at least two functions (given in the php manual) doesn't work:

imagecreatetruecolor
imagecopyresampled

<b>Warning</b>: imagecopyresampled(): requires GD 2.0 or later in <b>/home/rbase/public_html/development/images/box.php</b>

Any ideas why I get this and why phpinfo() still says 1.62 after an install?

when php was compiled it was compiled using the older gd binaries. in order to have php with 2.0.33 it must be recompiled --with-gd=/path/to/gd2.0.33 along with the additional libraries like libpng, libjpeg, and freetype.
