Hi,

I would like to make GUI application with PHP. I have some questions.

  • Are there any other solutions beside PHP-GTK?
  • What is the advantage of using PHP-GTK?
  • Is PHP-GTK still active?

Thanks,

AT

    1. Nope.
    2. You get to use PHP?
    3. Yes

      Thanks for the reply.

It looks like I ask wrong question. Here's the revised questions.

      • Are there any other solutions beside PHP-GTK?
      • If there are other solutions, what is the advantage of using PHP-GTK?
      • Have you or your friends used it for "real" application?
      • How is the future of PHP-GTK?

And piersk has answered the first question.

Well, I answered the first question if you meant "Is there any other way I can write a GUI using PHP?"

I assumed that since this is a PHP forum and that you mentioned PHP in the title of the thread, that you wanted to use PHP...

There's a couple of good articles here

And as the last stable release was 15th July 2005, I would say that it is still active (although I haven't had a look at the CVS repository) just not as active as, say, firefox.

          18 days later

I found new solution for desktop application development with PHP: gambArt. I've tried it. It looks very good and easier to use. Check the web: www.klorofil.org

Anything under Discussion does not contribute to post count.

Ooh, more fodder for the "Bump in the Night" thread ....

Or as I saw on another forum just before my Sweet Tea began spewing from my nose, "Holy Thread Lazarus, Batman!" 😃
