php loading problems

Hi, I am about as new to php as I am to this site, so please bear with me 🙂. I am having problems using php5 with my server. Everything works fine, but occassionally a site with php (on my server) will either only partially load, or not load at all.

Now, I realize that I have an extremely SLOW host, but I should think there is a way that I can just make it take longer to load before it just "gives up".

I am using MySQL 4.xx, php5, and apache2 (pretty much the newest versions on everything). Because I am using my cable internet [comcast.net] provider as my host, I am limited to the VERY slow upload capabilities. However, I should think that I could get even a simple site to work right!

You can see for yourself at: sore4x4.com/index_orig.php (hit "refresh" if it does not load), or sore4x4.com/phpinfo.php (notice it does not load all the way?)

I have been chasing my tail for weeks on this, PLEASE help me!

Thank you for the reply, but unfortunately, that did not seem to help 🙁.
My phpinfo page still doesn't want to finish loading. My code now reads: <?php phpinfo(); ini_set('max_execution_time',3000); ?>

I think it might have something to do with the fact that I get a lot of packet loss with my host-- how do I get it to keep trying to resend? Or, can anyone reccomend a good free/really cheap host that will support php5, and mysql? All I want to do is make a really simple personal webpage that will allow me to show pics and practice php with.

you might try setting the timeout before calling phpinfo. ie;

  ini_set('max_execution_time',3000);
  phpinfo();
?>
